Unwinding Trauma
Complex trauma therapist/healer/survivor
Complex trauma often stems from a challenging childhood, which may have included periods of neglect, a lack of attunement, possible abuse, and an overall absence of a stable, predictable, and untroubled daily life.
Adult survivors may be bright and creative yet struggle to develop fulfilling relationships and employment, regulate their emotions, and maintain an upbeat mood. Furthermore, they may often be hypervigilant, finding their nervous systems stuck in survival mode. Throughout my complex trauma healing journey, I have discovered that the mix of symptoms associated with complex trauma is best addressed through a variety of modalities. This is why I have trained in these different psychotherapeutic modalities to get your life force flowing well again:
Somatic Experiencing
EMDR
Brainspotting
NARM
NeuroAffective Life Force Model
Grief Support – Warden Model
Art Therapy
Long-term meditation practice (including several 7-day retreats)
Five Things You Can Do Right Now to Unwind Your Trauma:
Take a walk outside in nature. Find a safe and calming space to rest.
Connect to your senses—notice what you see, hear, etc. Move slowly toward the pleasant and away from the unpleasant. Pay attention to any internal changes.
Enhance your sense of safety by imagining a place where you have felt at ease.
Connect with others: call a supportive friend, reflect on a memory of how a mentor helped you, or spend time with your pet.
Engage in cross-meridian exercises, which you can find online.
If you need additional support, we are here to help you on your healing journey. I offer expertise in unwinding trauma, grief support, and relapse prevention, all aimed at fostering a more mindful life path.
